Our roots The roots of De Vroomen lie in the heart of the so-called "Bollenstreek": the bulb fields of Holland, an area with a rich agricultural history. Both soil and climate are ideal for growing bulbs and perennials. The concentration of agricultural knowledge also means that we can take advantage of independent research centers and quality control laboratories. The exclusive and rare items in the perennial assortment are grown on our own De Vroomen nursery which guarantees a reliable quality and availability for competitive prices. The more common "old favorite" perennials and bulbs are bought from carefully selected (Dutch) growers with whom we have maintained longtime relationships. The Dutch climate is excellent for perennial growing thanks to mild summers. Overcast skies and rain are quite common. Thanks to our rich and sandy soil, root systems are of excellent quality and they are easy to clean.
